Curious, what are you watching while the world spins around us?

What's your favorite thing about it? Does it help you get through?

Ah, but how did you do in the Duel on "Dead Like Me" awhile back, Godwit?

The show caused what might pass for a minor controversy over in the Duels thread.

I find it mildly interesting no one took me up on my offer to find out the ending of "Snowpiercer". I can only conclude this means
1. No one reading this thread cares all that much how it ends.
2. People reading this thread decided that, once again, "Google is my friend" and looked up the ending for themselves.

Mira............in my case, your first conclusion is the correct one. I found "Snowpiercer" totally unrealistic, unbelievable and total crap, so couldn't care less HOW it ends!

lol, I'm seeing a pattern here where we can rely on you to weed out the "crap".

MiraJane: I'm still convinced I'm going to watch it. So I don't want to know how it ends (even though I know how it ends because these shows all end exactly the same way. Still. Let me sit on the edge of my seat wondering).

I have my fingers crossed this "Space Force" has some good laughs to offer.

I always recommend Pushing Daisies to anyone looking for something different. It's shot in a super saturated color scheme. Worth watching for the visuals alone.

"I found "Snowpiercer" totally unrealistic, unbelievable..."

If you can find a realistic portrayal of a bunch of people that are living on a train which circles the frozen globe over and over let me know.

The whole premise is unrealistic. What were you expecting?

People always forget about the "fiction" part of Science Fiction.

Guess what? It's all made up. It's not supposed to be realistic.

We've done such a great job so far of sharing and enjoying everyone's opinions or letting them be.

If you disagree it's interesting to hear why and how, sharing your own perspective. Like, "I still get into a show whether it's realistic or not"--says something interesting, and for me that's true too. Let's avoid anything that sounds like, "How could you possibly think that?" We can THINK it! And then come up with a way to express that, with fundamental respect for each other.
Because there's no right and wrong for how someone interprets or enjoys a tv or movie. Come on.

Especially right now when we are all tired, and worried, and going through this bizarre and sad world situation--it's a good time to be as gentle with each other as possible. Eh?

I'm going to try this new comedy Space Force. Nothing like laughter to ease a day.

I couldn't get Space Force with Steve Carrell because it's Imb, or something. I don't get thing where you buy a service, you pay monthly for that service, but they want you to purchase 12 other things in order to view a lot of their movies. Please explain.

I watched the suggested "Cougar Town" instead. Gotta say I did laugh a lot.

If either one of you can point out in my post where I say anything bad about somebody for stating their opinion, let me know.

It me that is getting attacked here. As usual. I just said I don't understand people expecting a realistic portrayal of something that is never going to be real.

And I have the right to say it just like somebody else has the right to bash every show they don't care for.

I am kind of late to this thread, we are all out and about now, but I can share what I watched during the quarantine, March 13 to May 11.
1. Met Opera Free streaming, I watched almost all of the operas offered.
2. On Netflix I watched plenty but the ones I liked were: Atypical, Marseille, Land Girls, Unorthodox, The English Game, After Life and Chef's Table.
3. I also watched a few movies here and there, tv and such, like JoJo Rabbit, Spirited Away, Ninth Gate, Truth, Suffragette, Invisible Woman, I, Daniel Blake. Some I liked, some less.
4. In the mornings, while I was working on my computer, I listened to many books, mainly novels and poetry! Actors, singers and poets were reading and it was very interesting.

tiye, we aren't all out and about! It's only day 5 of "phase 1" opening where I am, but still "everything closed" (supposedly) a few miles to the west. Phase 1 opening is curbside pickup for some retail stores, except few of the stores that can do that have opened yet.

Godwit, the bunny's fur has already been ruffled by this thread. I'll leave further Duel talk in the Duel thread.

Well, I'm pleased to report that I've almost finished Game of Thrones... but as I shan't be out and about any time soon I shall have to re-read this thread to find another addiction. Breaking Bad? The Sopranos? I missed both of those.

Oh and has Deadwood been mentioned anywhere? I cried when that show got taken off and waited patiently for years until they brought out the "movie". Which I still haven't watched but I bought the DVD so it's waiting for me.

I mentioned it before but I don't know if it's streaming anywhere. "Northern Exposure" was a really good series from the early '90s.
