Horror: It seems "Errementari" is a re-telling of a Spanish/European folk tale "the smith and the devil". If I've got the gist, apparently a miserable and brutal blacksmith named Patxi blames and tortures a demon. This devil begs an orphan girl to let him out of his cage, and nothing good comes of it. Netflix says the movie is horror-comedy and "not for everyone". But for those who find sinister horror delicious, Boxjaw recommends it. Reply #401. Aug 17 20, 3:39 PM |

What Can I Watch? LISTS A reminder you can find our recommendation lists here at Post #106, 107, 108, 109, starting on page 6. If like me you're in need of some shows to binge. Every show I've tried from these lists has been fantastic (except that ONE I won't bring up again. On a train. In the snow). I will update the new recommendations and create a master list, soon. Please keep sharing your likes and dislikes and updates on anything new coming out. We'd be out of our minds with boredom by now without it. Reply #402. Aug 17 20, 3:56 PM |

American horror story is a good one to binge if you have the time. They have many seasons. IMO they aren't all good but its' one of those that is subjective. I like a few seasons that people don't like and vice versa. If you can get it on amazon or another platform it's worth the watch. The great thing is you can pick up a season, and then skip another, you don't have to watch all in order. It's an anthology series. Reply #403. Aug 17 20, 10:07 PM |

"If like me you're in need of some shows to binge. Every show I've tried from these lists has been fantastic (except that ONE I won't bring up again. On a train. In the snow)." Aha! So you *did* watch some of it! That show Which Shall Not Be Named was most definately not a recommendation from anyone who suffered from viewing ten minutes of it. Reply #404. Aug 18 20, 12:51 AM |

Save us from the pain of starting it and tell us, pray tell, what it is:-) Reply #405. Aug 18 20, 1:19 AM |

I started "REBUS". It is excellent, detective show, set in Edinburgh Scotland. I get it via Britbox. Inspector John Rebus is a great combination of the narrated hard-nosed street cop, and "Bosch". The show is based on the novels of Ian Rankin, with Rankin's beloved home of Edinburgh featured as a character in the show. We get to see a lot of the city. Reply #406. Aug 18 20, 10:49 AM |

"The Dark Horse" movie, I saw mentioned in a quiz on chess. That is a fabulous film. Seen it? Set in New Zealand in 2014 as I recall, it's about a man who struggles with bi-polar disorder, but finds a way to teach chess to at-risk youth, changing their lives. Reply #410. Aug 25 20, 8:11 PM |

Has anyone watched the German "Dark" show on Netflix? I binge watched all 3 seasons bar the last 2 episodes. It started of really great, but now I am so confused, I'd just like to know if anyone else has watched and what are their thoughts. Reply #411. Aug 26 20, 12:40 AM |

Re Netflix "Dark" it seems you are not alone. I searched "Netflix Dark explained" and got a long list of search results. They call the show "intricate" "confusing" "most complex time travel show on the air" "mind-bending" and "better than Stranger Things, a lot better than Lost". So! A search will get you plenty of explanations and ideas, if no one here has theories. I'm intrigued, now. Reply #412. Aug 26 20, 9:52 PM |

Often on YouTube or other you find some fanatics who spend a lot of time tracking details and reading info. They are fun to watch lay out the plot and give possible explanations. It's incredible how much backstory they know. Or...you can give up trying to figure it out and start a new show! Reply #414. Aug 28 20, 12:46 PM |

New Stuff, and the Cinema? --Tom Hanks directed and stars in a new five stars-rated show called "Greyhound", set in WWII, originally for the cinema, unhappily (says Tom) sold to Apple TV Plus (a new subscription service) for streaming. There is a 7-day free trail if you want to catch it no-charge. --"Tenet" directed by Christopher Nolan (Dunkirk, Dark Knight) offers "stunning visuals and stunts" --a movie that many hope will bring us back into the theaters. --"The Personal History of David Copperfield" directed by Armando Innucci is "full of cheer" "boisterous and bustling" says the New Yorker. Showing in real live movie theaters. Are any of you attending theaters? If so, how is it? Seen anything wonderful? Reply #415. Aug 29 20, 12:50 PM |

I finally watched the last 2 episodes last night. I think that's an end to the whole series. Very strange show indeed. Reply #416. Aug 30 20, 4:14 AM |

I don't subscribe to any of the extra cost services, not enough time, but I have been enjoying "Yellowstone" with Kevin Costner, on Paramount Network. Reply #417. Aug 30 20, 10:05 AM |

Heroes is being show on BBC iplayer, which I missed the first time around, has a mix of American and British actors, well worth a view for those who enjoy fantasy type fiction. Good effects and some good acting Reply #418. Aug 30 20, 12:08 PM |

Thanks for those. :) "Yellowstone" is Costner in his element, I think. By contrast "Heartland" is a sweet version of ranch life. Reply #419. Sep 01 20, 12:53 AM |

Thinking about "Heroes" (which I missed) I saw Hugh Jackman in "The Greatest Showman". There's a movie I found exciting and uplifting, with a wonderful cast. Reply #420. Sep 01 20, 12:57 AM |
