Curious, what are you watching while the world spins around us?

What's your favorite thing about it? Does it help you get through?

I have been watching a lot of tv series, old and news series, bad horror movie, just for the laugh and lots of solitaire cards game and now I am already the grandmasters of these games. I love Chicago PD, have watched season 2 all the way to currently season 7. Once PD is over, tv is going to show Chicago Fire. At the same time I am also watching Captain Benson of SVU.
However, life here in the boondock is almost normal. Covid cases in my country is low after a scary first few months. Most cases come from people who are returning from abroad and from illegal immigrant. I can't imagine what's happening in the USA.

What a relief that must be. Glad to hear it.

I will look at those you mentioned.

I saw "Transplant" pilot tonight. I don't get the premise but I like the characters. A doctor who isn't? Or ...something?

Also saw Episode 1 of "Howard's End". Just fabulous.

In need of a new seriously good, many seasons, not too dark detective series.

Or, anything awesome.

Fort Salem (BBC iPlayer) (Freeform)

Set in a alternate reality the American military train a trio of witches to fight against terrorist organization The Spree.

Haven't watched it yet but it looks promising.

Oh no.

There are ads on a certain tv channel about that show with a train in the snow. We are encouraged to binge watch the first season. The first season??

it was progressing to how the story ended. If this was meant to be a multiseasonal show, they should have raced so quickly through the original story line. Where oh where are the wandering polar bears when you need them?

I finished watching Season 3 of Yellowstone last night. I am loving it...if you are looking for something that isn't lawyer, cop or hospital related. Kevin Costner stars.

Watched 2 films recently...........one called "Western Approaches" was excellent about WW2 convoy..........the other was an Austrailian offering, "Force X attack" (or something like that) about Aussie commandos fighting "nast cruiel Japanese", quite watchable if the fact the submarine they landed from was an Oberon Class built in 1960's is glossed over.

Thanks! Appreciate all suggestions so much.

"Attack Force" I think?

There's a new documentary about F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, also.

Well, see. There you go. Disaster Films are not meant to meet minimum standards.

They are for fun, for "oh my god did you see Vince dive that airplane into...", for the relief of watching people overcome giant ants and the Day After blizzards and twisters and towers on fire, earthquakes and such. We might be blessed with ten seasons of snowy if unmentionable tribulation.

"Attack Force" is about Segal and CTX Majestic, a covert military operation, drug lords, and so on. Doesn't sound like I found your show.

rockstar,

I have watched every episode of Yellowstone, some twice. I enjoy it very much. For those interested, it is on the Paramount Network. They are currently between seasons.

Me too, Yellowstone is wonderful.

Found it! "Attack Force Z". 1981? "fast-paced, fun, cheesy" says imdb. Aussie Commandos are rescuing a Japanese defector. Stars a "relatively unknown" Mel Gibson and Sam Neill.

McDonald and Dobbs!
This is a new British detective story-- delightful. A brash and ambitious lady "from London" transfers to Bath, where she is assigned a seemingly bumbling, shy assistant. The upper class folks of Bath are none too welcoming. Characters are well-known guest stars.

There are only two episodes season 1, with an August promise of 3-5 more coming, but no show date.

Here's a GREAT show I'm so excited to watch.
"The Bletchley Circle", a miniseries.

If you haven't seen it, four British women who were codebreakers during WWII reunite years later to use their skills to track down a serial killer.

Has anyone done a list of animated series? If not, I offer the following as a start...

Batman: The Animated Series (90s)
The Tick (90s)
Spider-Man: The Animated Series (90s)
Justice League: The Animated Series (00s)
Harley Quinn (now)
Oscar's Oasis (YouTube)
Bugs Bunny & Friends (obviously)
(graded by star)
 Bugs Bunny & Daffy A+
 Bugs & Elmer C
 Bugs & Yosemite Sam A
 Daffy & Porky Pig D
 Porky Pig solo D
 Sylvester & Tweety D
 Sylvester & Speedy Gonzalez D-
 Foghorn Leghorn A
 Roadrunner & Wile E. Coyote B
Sam Sheepdog & Ralph Wolf C
Pinky & the Brain (90s)
Futurama
The Critic
Underdog (early episodes)

I hesitate to put the 90s X-Men in here because while it had some great moments, it also had a lot of cringey ones, and I hated the voice of Wolverine. Harley Quinn is a huge departure from standard superhero fare, and is rather bloody and violent to boot, but it's excellent entertainment. And as I noted in a previous post, the finale to season two is one of the best finales I've ever seen, animated or live. Pinky & the Brain started out as a subset of Animaniacs and was so good, it got its own show, which essentially left Animaniacs with nothing worth watching except for Hello, Nurse. Underdog started out like The Tick, as a parody of superheroes, but evolved into a standard superhero and lost its humorous edge. There are a handful of the original Pink Panther episodes worth watching, but having watched all 124 episodes or something, I can't recommend it. When the Panther IS the invisible nemesis, it's hilarious; when the Panther HAS an invisible nemesis, it stinks. And only in about six or seven episodes is the former true. I enjoyed Thundercats as a kid; as an adult, meh. I really despise the vulgar "adult" themed cartoons, Family Guy, South Park, Beavis & Butthead, and King of the Hill.

May I humbly suggest you add these two of my favourites to the list?

The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends (by this I mean only the originals and not any ersatz desecratory attempt at resurrection)

Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines / Stop that Pigeon (I love the parts where Muttley tries to talk Dick Dastardly into pinning a medal on his chest)
